Ali Zomorodi learned medicine at Duke University Medical School, and trained in neurosurgery at the Duke University Medical Center where he also completed a fellowship in cerebrovascular surgery. He joined the faculty of Duke Surgery and Neurosurgery as an Assistant Professor in 2008. He has focused on complex cerebrovascular and skull base tumor surgery, and since 2013 he has been the Director of Skull Base Surgery and the Co-Director of Cerebrovascular Surgery at Duke University Hospital. He is also the director of Skull Base and Vascular Neurosurgery at Duke Raleigh Hospital. He has over 40 peer-reviewed publications, and has taught courses on vascular and skull base neurosurgery in the US and Europe. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Neurological Surgeons, and is a member of the American Association of Neurologic Surgeons, the Congress of Neurologic Surgeons, the Cerebrovascular Section of the AANS and CNS, the North American Skull Base Society, and the Acoustic Neuroma Association. He was recently honored by the American Neuro-otology Society.
